Morning Investigation Queries Released

The Isle of Wight’s Emergency Services Team has carefully analysed the WW2 Bomb discovery in Newport. To aid your investigation, specific questions have been issued for you to explore:

1. Map out the 300 and 600-metre evacuation zones

  • How many people live in these zones?
  • What percentage might be vulnerable?
  • Where/How can we evacuate this number of people to on the island?
  • Plan out your evacuation to begin at 16:00, and work out Where, How, Who and What?

2. Identify infrastructure that is in this zone

  • Where are the key assets? (are there any missing from the map?)
  • What do they depend on?
  • What depends on them?
  • What could be the consequences of these assets not functioning?

3. If you needed to replace the infrastructure because it was damaged

  • How much might it cost to replace?
  • How long might it take?
  • What might be the long-term impact on other infrastructure?
  • What might be the impact on society on the island?

4. What might be the impact on the environment?

They need your answers by midday, so you better get going.
