The Isle of Wight’s Emergency Services Team has carefully analysed the WW2 Bomb discovery in Newport. To aid your investigation, specific questions have been issued for you to explore:
1. Map out the 300 and 600-metre evacuation zones
- How many people live in these zones?
- What percentage might be vulnerable?
- Where/How can we evacuate this number of people to on the island?
- Plan out your evacuation to begin at 16:00, and work out Where, How, Who and What?
2. Identify infrastructure that is in this zone
- Where are the key assets? (are there any missing from the map?)
- What do they depend on?
- What depends on them?
- What could be the consequences of these assets not functioning?
3. If you needed to replace the infrastructure because it was damaged
- How much might it cost to replace?
- How long might it take?
- What might be the long-term impact on other infrastructure?
- What might be the impact on society on the island?
4. What might be the impact on the environment?
They need your answers by midday, so you better get going.
